The Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of company on-road fleet vehicles, including F-350, F-450, and F-550 trucks. This role also supports light servicing of off-road construction equipment as needed, including air compressors, cement mixers, skid steers, backhoes, etc. Operating primarily out of our Corona facility, the Service Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the fleet is reliable, compliant with DOT standards, and ready to support field operations. Accurate recordkeeping and adherence to safety practices are essential.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on Class 3-5 on-road trucks (primarily Ford F-series)
  • Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all required repairs are completed to maintain compliance
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, suspension, and driveline issues
  • Maintain detailed service records and inspection documentation within the company's maintenance tracking system
  • Support light-duty repairs and service for off-road equipment on an as-needed basis, including air compressors, cement mixers, skid steers, backhoes, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager and Service Writer to prioritize repairs and track work orders
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • Assist with minor fabrication or parts installation as directed
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing light- and medium-duty commercial trucks
  • Strong understanding of DOT compliance requirements and inspection procedures
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
  • Familiarity with basic off-road construction equipment repairs (air compressors, cement mixers, skid steers, backhoes, etc.) is a plus
  • Capable of maintaining accurate records and following documentation procedures
  • Comfortable using diagnostic tools and service manuals
  • Valid Class C driver's license required; clean driving record preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, safety-focused, and able to work independently
Working Conditions
  • Work is primarily performed in a shop setting with occasional outdoor work
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
  • Standard day shift; some overtime may be required based on operational needs
  • All PPE is provided
