MAU is hiring a Process and Industrial Engineer for our client in Eden, NC. As a Process and Industrial Engineer, you will improve efficiencies within the Labor Management System by analyzing workflow, labor, and equipment utilization across distribution facilities. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
Shift Information
  • Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required
  • 1-3 years of experience in industrial or process engineering, preferably in distribution or manufacturing environments
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience with warehouse systems and Labor Management Systems
  • Knowledge of order management systems such as JDE or SAP
General Requirements
  • Experience with method time measurement and engineered standards
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA required)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts
  • Comfortable coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid U.S. passport
  • High attention to detail and ability to focus for extended periods
Essential Functions
  • Identify, document, and implement best practices across all distribution sites
  • Create time study templates using UMT software for the Labor Management System
  • Conduct time studies and equipment speed/distance studies using XYZ coordinates
  • Develop and maintain engineered standards for labor modeling and budgeting
  • Evaluate and implement slotting strategies based on operational needs
  • Optimize location configuration, pick sequencing, and put-away logic
  • Drive productivity improvements across distribution operations
  • Develop and update SOPs, process maps, and flow charts
  • Create and maintain Excel-based reports (VBA/coding experience preferred)
  • Reduce touches in distribution center processes
  • Train employees on productivity improvements and system efficiencies
  • Analyze unmeasured time via the Labor Management System to identify inefficiencies
  • Promote and implement cost/time-saving initiatives
  • Support creation and maintenance of budget models
  • Maintain engineered standards, labor rates, and production metrics
  • Manage XYZ facility coordinate data within Labor Management Systems
  • Replace manual tracking with system-based reporting for production data
  • Evaluate conveyor throughput to support projects and customer requirements
  • Assist in offsite and expansion warehouse design based on operational needs
  • Determine labor requirements (FTEs) based on throughput and engineered standards
  • Train team members on Labor Management System fundamentals
  • Conduct process flow evaluations to reduce waste
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Occasional travel required
