Job Description:
Description: The Cook PRN is an entry-level position that assists in the preparation of meals, cuts/slices vegetables, makes salads, and assembles entrees. The Cook - PRN completes pre-preparation of products for next-day meal services (e.g. panning of items, marinating of meats, slicing of food etc.) and prepares and stores food properly. The Cook PRN follows food safety and sanitation principles to include sanitizes work area, work surfaces, and production equipment.
Typical Duties:
  1. Cuts and slices vegetables, makes salads, and assembles entrees.
  2. Completes pre-preparation of products for next-day meal services (e.g. panning of items, marinating of meats, slicing of food, etc.).
  3. Prepares and stores food properly, adhering to established sanitation and safety procedures in the preparation and service of meals.
  4. Assures the safe and sanitary operation of all food production equipment and tools. Cleans production areas and equipment.
  5. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
    Required Education and Experience:
  • Experience with cooking in the food service industry.

  • Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
  • Must have a current City of Fort Worth Food Handler's Certification.
  • OR
  • Must have completed an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Food Handler's Certificate Program.

  • Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
