Join an innovative team dedicated to creating groundbreaking microelectronics solutions that support national security missions. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and verify high-reliability digital electronics for diverse applications, including processor boards, FPGA and SOC boards, and memory applications with a focus on DDR and high-speed I/O.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate project and system requirements into precise hardware architectures with cross-functional teams.
  • Design and complete instruments that integrate microprocessors, power, and analog components.
  • Innovatively address challenges, ensuring project completion on schedule, and work collaboratively with technical contributors.
  • Build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare comprehensive documentation for manufacturing and support.
  • Research and enable innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs, pushing the boundaries of technology.
  • Develop reliable and cost-effective solutions in collaboration with other engineers and partners.
  • Lead complex problem-solving efforts with limited direction, contributing to requirements development and adapting to changes efficiently.
  • Independently execute complex electronic architectures and designs, providing insights and suggesting design improvements based on simulation results.
  • Identify technical risks at the program/system level and strategize effective mitigation plans.
  • Manage tasks involving multiple engineers and communicate status updates to project leadership and clients effectively.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers, offering constructive feedback and guidance.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessor, or embedded computing.
  • Solid understanding of design and computer architecture principles.
  • Ability to write detailed design specifications and possess strong computer programming skills.
  • Excellent communication, mathematical, and organizational skills, with an acute attention to detail.
  • Strong time management capabilities with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering theories and procedures.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Additional Requirements:
  • Experience with and knowledge of trade space for radiation-hardened parts.
  • Schematic capture and board layout expertise.
  • Experience integrating and debugging embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in circuit simulation using tools like HyperLynx and ANSYS.
  • Experience in Mentor Graphics PCB design flow is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Xilinx or Microchip FPGA/SOC design flow is desired.
  • Experience in designing for harsh environments, adhering to standards like RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, etc., is highly desired.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens and will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
