nSummary ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Line Cook at The Aquarium of the Pacific Responsible for preparing food in a timely matter, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner. The Line Cook must be prepared to work in a fast-pace, high-pressure work environment, while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively. Line Cook must be prepared to work as a team member in a dynamic workplace, follow all safety procedures, and have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
nSet up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service.
nPrepare a variety of foods, meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
nProperly labels and dates food items for storage.
nStocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service period.
nAssists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in
nKnows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
nUse food preparation tools in accordance with manufactures instructions.
nClose the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations.
nMaintain and prepared a sanitary work area of coolers, and all storage areas at all times
nAssist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
nPerforms additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
nPrepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
nMake sure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately.
nConstantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices.
nReturns dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas.
nAssist with all duties as assigned by Executive Sous Chef. Qualifications:

nEducation and/or Experience
nMust be 18 to apply.
nReceived High school diploma or GED;
nMust have current Serve Safe certification.
nMust have ability to take directions and effectively perform the work.
nAt least (3) year experience in a food service preparing meals.
nSkills and Abilities
nAbility to produce quality food in a fast-paced environment.
nPositive attitude, customer service oriented.
nGood work ethic
nStrong knowledge of sanitary practices.
nMaintains proper grooming and dress code standards.
nAbility to work with other staff members in the facility.
nAbility to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
