EHS Coordinator Job Description:

    n
  • In this role, the individual will be responsible for the development, communication, implementation, training, and evaluation of Environmental Health and Safety Programs at the St. Louis facility.

Responsibilties:

nn
    n
  • Coordinates the day-to-day implementation of the site safety and industrial hygiene policies and procedures
  • n
  • Assure compliance with applicable DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations
  • n
  • Develops and conducts periodic safety audits / assessments to evaluate compliance to regulations and facility safety policies & procedures. Documents assessment findings, assists production management in resolving discrepancies
  • n
  • Performs ergonomic evaluations and assists in implementation of process improvements
  • n
  • Assures contractor compliance with applicable safety and environmental policies
  • n
  • Participates with teams to design new and existing processes with hazard minimization and waste reduction as primary objective
  • n
  • Updates and maintains action items within Safety and Environmental Profession database
  • n
  • Responsible for development of safety training materials. Delivers training content as necessary
  • n
  • Performs risk assessments and process evaluations to determine the need for engineering controls and/or administrative controls. Coordinates implementation of process controls as related to safety/environmental issues
  • n
  • Drive pollution prevention and sustainability programs
  • n
  • Develops and maintains plant safety committees and safety teams
  • n
  • Lead incident investigation team, evaluate risks and incidents, and identify areas where costs and loss experience can be improved.
  • n
  • Manage worker’s compensation claims and coordinate employee health activities
  • n
  • Perform waste audits and coordinate shipment of regulated waste
  • n
  • Monitor compliance with wastewater permits including coordinating wastewater sampling and data tracking
  • n
  • Track metrics, prepare and submit monthly reports. Prepare plant communications including weekly safety topics
  • n
  • Responsible for collecting, preparing and transferring many types of chemicals and other hazardous materials.
  • n
  • Review materials used by manufacturing operations and maintain Safety Data Sheet database
  • n
  • Responsible for conducting weekly safety inspections such as Hazardous Waste areas.
  • n
  • Evaluation and implementation of Personal Protective Equipment
  • n
  • Perform Job Safety Analysis
  • n
  • Aid in the timely preparation of required reports to regulatory agencies as requested
  • n
  • Develop and implement procedures/SOPs to reduce safety/environmental risks and to address emergency situations
  • n
  • Develop and provide EHS related training programs on various EHS topics including Lab Safety, Respirator Program, PPE. Hearing Conservation, First Aid/CPR, LOTO, Chemical Hygiene, and Hazardous Communication
  • n
  • Maintain Sustainability Report and records
  • n
  • Collaborate with management to further the objectives of health and safety programs
  • n
  • Facilitate and manage employee-based Safety Committee
  • n
  • Coordinate annual EHS training matrix
  • n
  • Coordinate and develop training & drills for Emergency Evacuation requirements
  • n
  • Serve an active role in the incident investigation process and root cause analysis
  • n
  • Other tasks as deemed necessary

Requirements :

nn
    n
  • Minimum of 1- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory setting.
  • n
  • Familiar with EHS programs and regulatory requirements.
  • n
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • n
  • OSHA 10 hour course completion or within 60 days of employment
  • n
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, including Injury record keeping.
  • n
  • Computer literate on PC and related software.
  • n
