Job Summary:
Responsibilities include planning, implementation, coordination of quality, accident, fire prevention, occupational safety, environmental and health programs. Provides safety training to employees and completes facility inspections
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Enforces all Production HSE Legal Requirements for the USA, including emergency response, job site fire protection, hazard assessments, risk assessments, PPE assessments, safety checklists, hand tool safety checks, PPE, incident reporting, hazardous and toxic gas safety, environmental reporting, and production site safety meetings.
  • Ensures that all applicable drills including fire drills, tornado drills, earthquake drills, and all emergency evacuation and shelter-in-place drills are executed at least annually.
  • Plans, implements, coordinates, and assesses accident, evacuation, emergency response, fire prevention, and occupational safety and health programs.
  • Performs near miss and accident investigations, with root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
  • Audits to ensure all QHSE procedures and policies are implemented and being followed.
  • Follows up on HSE non-conformance and corrective actions to ensure completion and effectiveness to organizational and key performance indicator goals.
  • Acts as a resource for HSE programs, issues, and employee safety issues and works closely with management, employees, and external agencies to promote a culture of safety.
  • Provides safety, health and environmental training to employees covering all required HSE regulations.
  • Maintains administrative control of records related to safety, health, and environmental programs. Prepares and disseminates quality, safety/health, and environmental-related procedures, memos and reports.
  • Maintains, administers, and advises on required customer safety portal reporting and questionnaires.
  • Completes and files all permits and reports for government offices, including for EPA, OSHA, federal, state, and local.
  • Ensures that all hazardous and non-hazardous waste is stored and disposed of properly and promotes recycling programs for facilities.
  • Ensures that all State and Federal environmental reports are filed correctly.
  • Utilizes continual improvement tools (corrective actions and risk assessments) to drive excellence throughout the organization.
  • Assists the Quality QHSE Manager with maintaining the ISO certifications.
  • Completes internal audits to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 45001 Standard requirements.
  • Limited Travel up to 10% to Farm Technologies, Dexter, NM site.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

  • Skills in managing safety projects and initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate with employees, management, and external agencies.
  • Willingness to stay updated on new safety technologies and industry best practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or other organizational, safety, environmental related software.

Education and Experience:
Examples:
Two-year college degree and additional two-years of experience in-lieu of degree.
Five years of related Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental experience.
Pay Rate is up to $30/hr
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $28.00 - $30.00
