The Patient Access Representative III is responsible for advanced patient access services, efficiently and accurately processing patient registrations, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance coverage. This role plays a critical part in optimizing the patient experience and supporting the hospital's commitment to high-quality healthcare services.
What you will do:
- Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner during the registration process.
- Perform advanced patient registration tasks, including handling complex patient registration scenarios.
- Collect and accurately enter patient demographic and insurance information into the hospital's electronic health records system.
- Schedule patient appointments for various healthcare services, coordinating with clinical departments and patients to find convenient times.
- Handle scheduling for specialized services, follow-up appointments, and more complex scheduling scenarios.
- Verify patient contact information and confirm appointment details.
- Collaborate with insurance providers and billing teams to address insurance-related issues.
- Assist with resolving complex insurance verification cases and provide guidance to other representatives.
- Provide patients with essential information about the registration and scheduling process, financial responsibilities, and available payment options.
- Handle patient concerns and escalations, resolving issues effectively and providing.
- Assist in training and mentoring newer patient access representatives and provide guidance on complex cases.
- Promote a positive patient experience by minimizing wait times, ensuring a welcoming environment, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Associates Degree Health Administration Required
- 2 Years Previous experience in patient access, healthcare administration, or a related field is required, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience.
