The Motor Vehicle Mechanic repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors:
• Diagnose the source of trouble and determine the extent of repairs required
• Replace worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts
• Grind and adjust valves; rebuild carburetors; overhaul transmissions; and repair fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems
Required Skills and Experience
• Four to six years of relevant Mechanic experience
• In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent
• Must have personal tools for this position
• US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain base access
• Must be able to pass a criminal pre-employment background check and drug screening
