Description of the role:
nThe Banquet Cook at Park Place Hotel in Traverse City, MI is a vital part of our culinary team. They are responsible for preparing delicious and high-quality dishes for banquets, weddings, and other special events hosted at our hotel. Attention to detail, organization, and creativity are essential for this role.
nResponsibilities:

- Prepare and cook menu items following recipes and presentation standards n
- Coordinate with the Banquet Chef to ensure timely delivery of dishes n
- Maintain a clean and organized work area n
- Assist in menu planning and development n
Requirements:

- Prior experience as a cook in a banquet or catering setting n
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures n
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment n
- Attention to detail and organization skills n

Responsibilities
n- n
- Prepare or direct preparation of food served using established production procedures n
- Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems n
- Learn menus, recipes, preparation, and presentation. n
- Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards n
- Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders n
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food is preserved n
- Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation n
- Prep all food for next shift and for the following day n
- Work with servers to ensure guest satisfaction and resolve complaints about food service as needed n
- Other duties as assignedn n
Qualifications
n- n
- nHigh School Diploma or GED preferred n n
- nMinimum 1-year experience cooking at a restaurant or full-service hotel preferredn n
- nCulinary school 2-4 year degree preferredn n
- nAvailability to work nights, weekends, holidays depending on business needsn n
