The Provider Enrollment Specialist administers the physician and FNP/PA enrollment and credentialing application process. The Provider Enrollment Specialist is responsible for preparing and submitting credentialing and recredentialing applications and supporting documentation for the purpose of enrolling individual practitioners and practitioner groups with individual payers. In this role, they will ensure the set up of the practitioners for electronic claims submission and electronic remittance advice. Additionally, they follow up on the status of applications for practitioners and payers, and track the progress on all pending applications. The Provider Enrollment Specialist works closely with providers, practice managers, medical billing specialists and other hospital staff.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. EDUCATION:

Requires graduation from high school with courses in office practices, including word processing. Supplemental course work in business administration, health care and medical terminology highly desirable.

1. EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three (3) years experience in a health care setting. Experience must include interacting with physicians and maintaining up to date and accurate files. Must be able to manage software and database programs.

1. LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS:

None required.

1. OTHER:

Medical terminology recommended, but not required.
