Description
Open Dealer Exchange (ODE), an affiliate of Reynolds and Reynolds, is looking to hire a Systems Engineer II to support its workforce in Southfield, MI. This is a direct hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have current knowledge and experience in data center technology including server, virtualization, network, and storage management. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive infrastructure support across both Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, SAN/storage systems, and Active Directory (AD), ensuring smooth operations and high availability.
- Manage and optimize both On-Prem and Azure Cloud environments , balancing performance, security, and scalability to meet organizational needs.
- Leverage Azure DevOps to streamline Infrastructure as Code, improving the automation of build and release processes.
- Administer and support networking infrastructure , including switches, routers, firewalls, telephony, and VPN systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and security.
- Drive multiple projects simultaneously , adapting to evolving priorities while managing constraints and deadlines to deliver successful outcomes.
- Support and enhance all internally developed applications across the three lines of business, playing a pivotal role in application performance and reliability.
- Assist in outage resolution and lead root cause analysis, ensuring quick recovery and long-term solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure challenges, driving innovation and improvement.
- Create and maintain clear documentation and knowledge base articles to empower team members and facilitate seamless support across the organization.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of infrastructure upgrades and enhancements, helping the company stay ahead of technology trends and meet evolving business requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred in computer science or a related field, with relevant coursework.
- Five years minimum of related work experience in virtual server environments, enterprise storage, networking, firewalls, cloud computing, application solutions, or Microsoft directory services.
- Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
- Expertise in Azure administration and resource management, with the ability to optimize cloud environments for efficiency and security.
- Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation, including authoring and executing scripts to streamline processes.
- Familiarity with IIS and JBoss application servers, ensuring robust and scalable application deployment.
- Strong shell scripting skills to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.
- In-depth knowledge and experience administering servers (both virtual & physical), networking infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers), storage solutions, backup systems, and Active Directory .
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills , with a knack for identifying issues and providing timely solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and levels within the organization to achieve common goals.
- Exceptional communication skills , both verbal and written, with the ability to interpret and convey complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences.
- A self-motivated and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
