We are excited to announce we are hiring for a Full-Time, Medical Assistan t at our Gastroenterologist of Ocean County office in Toms River, NJ .
About the Role:
The Medical Assistant at Gastroenterology of Ocean County plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services. This position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our medical team, facilitating effective communication between patients and healthcare providers. The Medical Assistant will assist in various clinical tasks, including patient assessments, preparing examination rooms, and maintaining accurate medical records. Additionally, this role involves educating patients about their conditions and treatment plans, ensuring they feel informed and comfortable. Ultimately, the Medical Assistant 3 contributes significantly to enhancing patient experiences and outcomes in our gastroenterology practice.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a clinical/medical office setting, preferably in gastroenterology.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or another language.
  • Knowledge of gastroenterology-specific procedures and terminology.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed.
  • Maintain and organize patient records, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, as well as general health and wellness topics.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring efficient scheduling and communication.

The required skills for this position include strong clinical abilities, which are essential for assisting healthcare providers during examinations and procedures. Excellent communication skills are vital for effectively educating patients and ensuring they understand their treatment plans. Organizational skills are necessary for maintaining accurate patient records and coordinating appointments efficiently. Attention to detail is crucial when performing clinical tasks and documenting patient information. Preferred skills, such as proficiency in EHR systems, enhance the efficiency of daily operations and improve patient care management.
