A growing manufacturer in Elkhart, Indiana is hiring a Quality Engineer to lead investigations, support product launches, and drive improvements across production. This role offers strong potential for growth for someone who's motivated and ready to make an impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support new product launches, including FMEAs, control plans, work instructions, and PPAP documentation
- Lead customer and internal root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Review testing data, identify anomalies, and drive resolution with cross-functional teams
- Manage supplier quality, approve PPAPs, and verify compliance to AIAG and internal standards
- Coach production teams on quality tools like SPC, process capability, and problem solving
- Serve as an internal expert on metrology, GR&R, GD&T, and tolerance analysis
- Drive continuous improvement using KPIs such as defect rates, scrap, rework, and cost of quality
- Support ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality systems and participate in internal audits
- Travel up to 20% to customer or supplier sites as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of quality engineering experience (automotive preferred)
- Hands-on knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and root cause methodologies
- Comfortable working with injection molding, stamping, and light assembly
- Strong analytical skills and ability to coach others in quality standards and tools
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) a plus
- Strong documentation and communication skills
