Primary Purpose:
Responsible for indirect auto sales activity within the Richmond and Peninsula territory. This individual will partner with all levels of management within their territory to define and execute standardized sales and marketing practices.
Develops and maintains profitable, quality indirect lending relationships with auto dealers within a market. Products offered as part of a moderate to large portfolio to include auto loans. Responsible for a consultative business practice with all dealerships to promote a mutually beneficial relationship while keeping all customers informed of any up-to-date services, products, and programs. Responsible for establishing profitable relationships, improving current dealer relationships, and terminating non-performing dealers. Builds business by identifying new opportunities and demonstrating value to customers, which requires a thorough knowledge of bank and competitor products. Monitors competition and makes suggestions for product improvements.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Promotes the growth and prosperity of the Bank by professionally serving the needs of dealers and end-customers.
  • Maintain effective communication with dealers and appropriate internal partners.
  • Develop a business plan that aligns with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Analyze dealer-specific data using applicable resources and take appropriate action.
  • Identify and resolve dealer issues presenting excessive risk. i.e., portfolio issues, fraud, buy-back, dealer agreement violations, dealer personnel, etc.
  • Responsible for the growth and development of indirect auto loans.
  • Takes a high-visibility, leadership role in the community served. Establishes and develops strong community relations in the region by becoming involved in civic, charitable, and community affairs.
  • Develops and coordinates strategies to assure business plan achievement for the region.
  • Meets regularly with the Director to advise and discuss business development plans.
  • Ensures the bank's underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and operational policies & procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Four-year degree in business-related field or combination of experience and education.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in indirect auto finance or related automotive field.
  • Demonstrates relationship management skills and the ability to make connections to the greater strategy while collaborating with multiple business partners and senior leaders.
  • Excellent marketing, sales, and relationship management skills.
  • An understanding of credit and the ability to interpret credit reports
  • Familiarity with all federal and state banking regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance, including fair lending laws.
  • Knowledge of auto lending practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated competency with personal computer use, with a good understanding of financial institution systems, products and services.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:
  • Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally.
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, use your arms and legs, and sit most of the time.
  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.
  • Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
