Position: Electrical Engineer
Location: Marietta, Georgia
Schedule: In office M-F with 40% travel a year could jump to 60% during outrage/maintenance work
Base Salary: $124,000-$155,000
Bonus: Target of $31,000 annual bonus for this role

Job Description:
We're looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer who can provide fleet-wide engineering support, subject matter expertise, and technical guidance for power systems and electrical equipment across multiple power generating facilities. This includes low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, motor control center apparatus, segmented and non-segmented bus work, isophase bus systems, digital protective relays, large electric generators, and both generator step-up and auxiliary transformers.
The role requires strong competency and hands-on experience with industry-standard electrical testing, as well as preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices for associated power systems and equipment. Also responsible for managing the organization's fleet-wide NERC PRC and MOD electrical testing program, including all related reporting to ensure compliance with NERC and SERC reliability standards.

  • Provide subject matter expertise, technical support, and engineering guidance for electrical systems and equipment at power generation facilities.
  • Plan the scope of work related to electrical systems and equipment during scheduled maintenance outages.
  • Oversee and/or conduct electrical testing and inspections as part of predictive and preventive maintenance programs at power plants.
  • Act as a technical advisor in defining and standardizing predictive and preventive maintenance programs (e.g., CMMS/Maximo) for electrical systems and equipment across the generation fleet.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for new system designs and modifications to existing power plant systems, including review of drawings, specifications, design memoranda, and service agreements.
  • Deliver engineering support to ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards, including managing the PRC and MOD electrical testing programs and associated reporting for NERC/SERC compliance.

Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Strong technical and business understanding of power plant operations, performance, and economics. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience is required, including at least 5 years specifically focused on preventive and predictive maintenance within an operating commercial electric power generation facility. Experience should include planning, budgeting, maintenance execution, and analysis. Additionally, at least 2 years of experience in performance management is required, including direct supervision of staff.
