About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Applied AI Research Scientist to join a cutting-edge AI Lab focused on generative AI and computer vision. This position is ideal for researchers passionate about advancing image and video generation, 3D reconstruction, and multi-modal modeling in real-world applications.
You will be part of a globally distributed team with backgrounds from top-tier labs and companies. The lab moves quickly, and many research concepts are tested and deployed within weeks, not years. Team members are encouraged to publish and present at top-tier conferences, while also contributing directly to product features used by millions.
This is an on-site position based in Bellevue, WA.
About the AI Lab
This AI Lab plays a central role in enhancing the AI capabilities of widely used consumer-facing creative tools. The team is focused on:
  • Developing state-of-the-art algorithms in computer vision and generative modeling
  • Conducting seminal research that advances the frontiers of image and video generation, 3D modeling, and multimodal learning
  • Collaborating across product and engineering teams to integrate research into real-time applications
  • Mentoring top-tier AI researchers and engineers to drive innovation and technical excellence

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Research and develop advanced models for image and video generation, editing, 3D reconstruction, and related areas
  • Conduct and publish high-impact research while contributing to product-driven development
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to push the frontier of applied generative AI
  • Translate innovative research into efficient, scalable solutions for deployment in production environments
  • Provide mentorship when necessary to support a strong and innovative technical team culture
What You'll Work On
As part of the team, you will contribute to the development of:
  • Diffusion and generative adversarial models for image and video synthesis and enhancement
  • 3D face modeling and reconstruction for augmented editing and animation features
  • Multimodal generative models combining text, image, audio, and video signals
  • Real-time inference systems optimized for mobile and cloud deployment
  • Novel AR and visual storytelling tools leveraging generative vision models
You will work with large-scale, proprietary datasets covering diverse visual domains, and also utilize and benchmark against public datasets and challenges. The models you build will be deployed in widely used digital creative tools with millions of global users. We use PyTorch, TensorFlow, and proprietary tools for scalable model training and deployment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Industrial research experience, either as a full-time employee or intern, with projects in computer vision, computer graphics, or natural language processing (NLP)
  • For U.S.-based candidates: Must obtain work authorization at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, NLP, or a closely related field
  • Three or more years of industry or academic experience in a relevant field
  • Strong interest in and thoughtful consideration of the product impact of AI technologies
  • Excellent engineering skills to implement and optimize research prototypes into scalable deliverables
  • Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate alternatives and make data-driven decisions
  • Strong communication skills to effectively share complex ideas with technical and non-technical audiences
  • A track record of first-author publications in top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, or SIGGRAPH
