About the Role:
The Kitchen Staff plays a crucial role in ensuring that high-quality meals are prepared and served in a safe and hygienic environment. This position is essential in supporting the overall health and well-being of patients and residents in a healthcare setting. The Kitchen Staff will work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen personnel to maintain food safety standards and deliver nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements. Attention to detail and adherence to health regulations are paramount to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure compliance with industry standards. Ultimately, the Kitchen Staff contributes to a positive dining experience that supports the recovery and satisfaction of those in care.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Certification in food safety or culinary arts.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Assist in inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute meal service efficiently.
  • Help in other areas of the Kitchen as needed. This included mopping, dishwashing and other manual kitchen duties as needed.

Skills:
The required skill of food safety is utilized daily as Kitchen Staff must consistently monitor food handling practices to prevent contamination. This includes proper storage temperatures, cleanliness of work surfaces, and personal hygiene. Preferred skills, such as culinary knowledge, enhance the ability to prepare diverse and appealing meals that cater to various dietary needs. Effective communication skills are also essential for collaborating with team members and understanding dietary restrictions. Overall, these skills ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly and that meals are not only safe but also enjoyable for those being served.
