Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare engineering drawings , specifications , and material requirements for substation projects with a focus on safety , quality , scheduling , and cost management .
- Ensure safety is a top priority , using a safety-first mentality in all tasks.
- Deliver high-quality design packages with exceptional productivity.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance for less experienced design personnel.
- Support Substation Field Services , Project Management , and other project stakeholders.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with associated departments.
- Uphold Southern Company's design criteria and standardization efforts .
- Contribute to storm restoration efforts as needed.
- Approximately 25% travel is required for this position.
- Basic discipline knowledge and problem-solving skills .
- Ability to make independent decisions based on procedures, with supervisory review as needed.
- Proficiency in Control Design tools and applications, including:
- AutoCAD Electrical
- TEAMS
- Stomps
- SCST Vault
- Maximo
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude .
- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering teams, and vendors.
