METI is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with specialized experience in Distributed Video and Network Systems, supporting Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the engineering, integration, and operation of video distribution platforms-specifically the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Digital Distribution Display System (MD3S). This role supports advanced technical operations in test and evaluation environments, including real-time mission and command center support for MDA and Aegis programs.
The Systems Engineer will play a key role in planning, configuring, managing, and troubleshooting digital media systems across enterprise and tactical networks. This position demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional with technical expertise in network video distribution, session management, and cybersecurity implementation.

Duties:
- Engineer, configure, and maintain distributed video systems using MD3S technologies and components.
- Support the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of MD3S hardware and software across DoD test ranges, labs, and operational environments.
- Plan and execute real-time video session management over enterprise and bandwidth-constrained networks.
- Analyze and assess network and video session performance to ensure uninterrupted mission support.
- Integrate MD3S systems with C4I and Combat Systems in both lab and field environments.
- Assist in the planning and deployment of Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity controls to ensure system compliance and operational continuity.
- Collaborate with Test & Evaluation (T&E) teams during Live Distributed Events and ensure seamless data and display transmission across command and control systems.
- Participate in mission readiness activities and provide technical support during distributed test events.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, General Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of technical experience with DoD Distributed Video and Network Systems.
- Recent (within the past 2 years) hands-on engineering and operational experience with MD3S hardware and software components.
- Experience with Digital Media Management Servers, Video Encoders, and Distributed Video Management Software.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in planning, configuration, and troubleshooting of distributed video systems and sessions.
- Knowledgeable in video session management over enterprise and bandwidth-limited networks.
- Familiar with network and video session performance analysis and diagnostics.
- Mission Support:
- Experience supporting Live Distributed MDA or Aegis missions, including T&E operations and systems integration.
- Understanding of C4I and Combat Systems integration over enterprise and tactical networks.
- Cybersecurity:
- Knowledge and practical experience in implementing Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity controls for MD3S systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with virtualization technologies and Software-Defined Networking (SDN).
- Familiarity with Aegis platforms and Navy shipboard systems.
- Background in configuring hypervisors and interfacing network nodes with video and network applications.
- Previous support for distributed at-sea events or live fire tests involving MD3S.
- May involve work in secure, classified environments.
- Occasional travel may be required to support mission events or installations.
- Work may include extended hours during key mission or test events.
