BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems sector in Westminster (north of Denver) is looking for Physicists, Mathematicians, and Electrical Engineers skilled at systems of systems thinking. We develop cutting edge space, ground control & dissemination systems, and tactical electronic systems and products. And we need capable teammates to help model system-of-systems performance, develop key mission level algorithms, and manage interactions between systems elements. This role is focused on delivering the highest quality intellectual products (designs, analysis, models) to our internal and external customers.
The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. - Implement signal processing techniques relevant to spatial and/or temporal signals from advanced sensors (e.g. radar, non-literal video, literal imaging, hyperspectral data …).
- Conduct trade studies using tools like Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) or other Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) and Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) tools.
- Design and development of new modeling tools – potentially in C++.
- Validate work against real and simulated data – making corrections for non-ideal data artifacts.
- Break high-level requirements into derived requirements and develop/document interface control documents (ICD) using tools like Cameo/Magic.
- Document performance metrics for use by software developers, scientists, and customers.
- Independently determine and develop solutions and approaches to complex systems design challenges.
- Ensure the completion of project milestones.
- Provide technical leadership to more junior colleagues.
- Interact with customers and colleagues outside immediate group.
- Assist in preparing presentations and documents.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:- Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 4 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree and/or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Secret security clearance is required with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI Polygraph.
- Ability to program in a high-level language like C++, Python or Matlab.
- Experience with maintaining code in git or similar code repository tool.
- Experience with some systems engineering tools.
- A current, active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
