Ideal candidates will have podiatry or orthopedic experience and x-ray experience. Medical Assistant / Health and Wellness Coordinator Responsibilities:Place patients in exam rooms, ensuring that they are ready and comfortable for their appointment with the physicianComplete exam intake, including but not limited to, reviewing the patient's medical history, social history, surgical history, and the history of present illnessConduct health assessments and complete visits with Upperline Plus patients being seen in our Podiatry ClinicsTelephonic outreach and engagement with Upperline Plus patients to coordinate ongoing preventative careCare coordination activities as assigned by Upperline Plus Nurse Practitioner including, but not limited to, medical records requests, order management, appointment scheduling, managing patient care referrals, etc.Ensure accurate charting for the physicianProvide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician including taking and developing x-rays and assisting in the exam room as requiredPerform daily administrative tasks such as stocking all exam rooms and disposing of exam room trashResponsible for cleaning and sterilizing exam and x-ray rooms both after each patient visit and at the end of each daySterilize instruments dailySatisfy and document appropriately required quality measures and auditsIdentify community resources and assisting Upperline's patients and families in accessing those resourcesTravel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if neededSupport the connection of our patients to our extended care team of Nurse Practitioners and Care Navigators, where and when neededMedical Assistant / Health and Wellness Coordinator Qualifications:Previous experience as a Medical Assistant; MA Certification is a plusPodiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferredX-ray experience is a plusClinical care coordination or care management experience is idealPrevious experience assisting or providing care to the adult - geriatric patient population is preferredExcellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminologyPrevious experience working in an EMR - preferably athenahealth EMRMust be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skillsExceptional customer service orientation featuring an empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interactionDemonstrated experience as a motivated and dedicated team member with a stable work historyReliable transportation and the ability to pass a background check and drug test is requiredExcellent oral and written communication skills to ensure that each of your interactions with patients, family caregivers, clinicians, and team members is effective and meaningfulBenefits Comprehensive benefit options include medical, dental and vision, 401K and PTO.
