Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado.
Key Duties:
- Promote and support the adoption of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) across the organization through training and advocacy.
- Develop standard work instructions and business operating procedures related to MBSE and system architecture.
- Establish formal processes for implementing MBSE within the program.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integrated system design and a cohesive digital engineering environment.
- Apply MBSE principles and requirements to digital environments enterprise-wide.
- Create and manage system architectures, interfaces, and requirements using MBSE tools and modeling languages such as SysML.
- Communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to diverse technical and non-technical team members.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Technical Baseline for a Command and Control (C2) and RDT Operations Center.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- 4 or more years of systems engineering experience.
- Knowledge of systems engineering frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF).
- Knowledge of modeling languages (e.g., SysML, UML).
- Experience using model-based systems engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, Rhapsody, etc.).
- Excellent analytical thinking, strategic planning, and effective communication.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a STEM discipline.
