Description: Job Summary
nLockheed Martin is seeking a highly motivated Network Operations Technician to join the Infrastructure Deployment Services (IDS) team in Littleton, CO. As a key member of the West Region network operations team, you will support enterprise-wide networking services for Lockheed Martin’s Business Areas (BA) and the Enterprise IT organization.
nYou will serve as a primary technical resource responsible for sustaining, implementing, remediating, and supporting secure LAN/WAN infrastructure—including corporate, classified, program-specific, and voice networks. The role includes hands-on work with routers, switches, wireless systems, firewalls, and more, while ensuring compliance with IT policies, audit requirements, and customer regulations.

nKey Responsibilities
n• Support, maintain, and remediate network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, WAPs, VOIP, DNS/DHCP, Extranets)
n• Provide second-level troubleshooting and incident resolution using network monitoring tools
n• Interface directly with internal customers and stakeholders, including executives, to deliver technical updates and project status
n• Interpret business and compliance requirements into network solutions and documentation
n• Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate services across physical and virtual environments
n• Participate in planning, testing, documenting, and implementing infrastructure solutions
n• Maintain detailed documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and asset information
n• Support development and integration of tactical and hybrid communications systems as part of 5GMIL (5G for Military) initiatives
n• Support ServiceNow ticket management, equipment lifecycle, and change management processes
nBasic Qualifications:
n• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with 5+ years in IT/networking
n• 3+ years hands-on experience with LAN/WAN/Wireless network infrastructure
n• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, routing tables, and peer-to-peer networking
n• Proficiency with Cisco IOS, CLI tools, and industry-standard troubleshooting practices
n• Ability to perform structured root cause analysis for network incidents
n• Strong written communication and technical documentation skills
n• Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations
n• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
n• CompTIA Security+ (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
nDesired Skills:
n• Active DoD Secret clearance
n• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, Juniper, or Arista
n• Experience with Software-Defined Networking (Cisco DNA Center, ACI, APIC, OpenStack)
n• Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols
n• Familiarity with Wireshark and packet capture analysis
n• Experience with ServiceNow, Cisco Viptela SD-WAN, Arista BCF, Juniper SRX, Infoblox, and CA Spectrum
n• Knowledge of firewall and VPN infrastructure
n• Experience managing vendor escalations, RMAs, and root cause analysis
n• Cloud experience with AWS or Azure, including:
no Virtual networking (VPCs/VNETs), subnets, and security groups
no Integration of cloud networks with on-prem infrastructure
no Cloud-based firewalls, load balancers, and routing configuration
no Experience with cloud monitoring and network performance tools
n• Support experience or awareness of 5GMIL (5G for Military) environments, including:
no Network segmentation and edge compute integration
no Secure wireless backhaul and transport design
no Application support across hybrid and tactical networks
no Military-focused network compliance and resiliency best practices
n• Ability to translate corporate IT policies into actionable network solutions and support plans

nAbility to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
nWork Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
nSchedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
nPay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
