Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in health sciences or related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Proficiency with computers and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a clinical healthcare setting.
  • Certification as a Medical Scribe Specialist (CMSS) or similar credential.
  • Familiarity with medical coding and billing processes.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare providers and staff.
Responsibilities:
  • Accompany healthcare providers during patient visits to document history, physical exams, procedures, and other relevant information in the EHR system.
  • Ensure all medical records are complete, accurate, and entered in a timely manner to support clinical decision-making and billing processes.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to clarify information and ensure documentation reflects the patient encounter accurately.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and institutional policies regarding patient information.
  • Assist in managing and organizing patient charts and other clinical documentation as needed to support efficient clinical operations.
