Project Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced and dynamic
Project Manager
to lead a variety of internal IT and business projects. In this role, you'll be instrumental in delivering projects that align with our company's strategic goals, from initial concept to successful completion. You'll navigate complex project landscapes, manage cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement within our client's Project Management Office (PMO).
What You'll Do
Lead Project Execution:
Drive the full lifecycle of medium to large IT and business projects, including defining scope, managing financials, overseeing schedules, and mitigating risks.
Strategic Planning & Adaptation:
Develop and refine project work plans, adapting them as needed to meet evolving requirements and adhering to established project management methodologies.
Team Leadership:
Provide overall direction, coordination, and leadership for project teams, ensuring project goals are met efficiently and effectively.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with various business areas to manage both IT and business deliverables, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
Communication & Reporting:
Develop comprehensive communication plans to keep stakeholders informed, facilitate project reviews, and provide regular status updates to senior management.
Financial Oversight:
Forecast, manage, and report on project financials, including budget, actuals, and resource utilization, making informed decisions based on cost-to-completion projections.
Process Improvement:
Actively participate in PMO process improvement initiatives and support the onboarding of new project management staff.
Vendor Management:
Work with Strategic Sourcing and Contracts to prepare RFPs, MSAs, and SOWs as needed.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in a Project Management role with a strong background in team development.
5+ years in an information technology capacity with an understanding of various technologies including applications, databases, networking, telecommunications, and connectivity.
3-5 years of experience in system analysis and design or infrastructure design/deployment/support.
Skills & Knowledge
Project Management Expertise:
Extensive knowledge of project management life cycles (e.g., Iterative, Agile, Waterfall) and systems development life cycles, along with a deep understanding of project management tools, techniques, and practices.
Leadership & Influence:
Proven strong leadership capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to effectively work with and influence clients, team members, management, and external groups.
Business Acumen:
Strong general business acumen with the ability to acquire a thorough understanding of business environments, systems, and technological alternatives.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning abilities.
Technical Proficiency:
Master-level proficiency in MS Office Suite products (Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Understanding of various technologies including applications, databases, networking, telecommunications, connectivity, security, and compliance. Basic familiarity with Clarity or other Portfolio/Program Management software is a plus.
Process :
A strong understanding of process improvement methodologies.
