About the Position We are seeking a dedicated
Field Supervisor
to oversee daily transit operations, ensuring the highest standards of
safety, compliance, and customer service . This role involves supervising drivers, conducting
on-the-road evaluations , investigating accidents, and providing essential training. As a key leader in our team, you will help maintain safe and efficient transit services while serving as a liaison between drivers, clients, and management.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate job expectations and responsibilities clearly to
drivers .
Manage
daily scheduling, counseling, and performance evaluations , providing reports to local management.
Conduct
on-site accident investigations
and assist drivers in completing accident, OSHA, and safety violation reports.
Monitor drivers on the road,
identify and correct safety concerns , and document any violations.
Act as a
liaison between drivers, clients, and management , resolving
customer service issues
effectively.
Evaluate driver performance for
safety, compliance, and adherence to labor policies .
Assist the
Safety Manager
in ensuring compliance with
DOT/FTA drug testing and recordkeeping requirements .
Support
dispatching, driver recruitment, and administrative tasks
as needed.
Maintain a
valid CDL , operate vehicles when required, and periodically drive assigned routes.
Maintain a strong focus on safety and lead by example.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or GED required .
Supervisory experience
with hourly employees required;
2-3 years of transit supervisory experience
.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) .
Strong
time management
and ability to
prioritize tasks
effectively.
Excellent
verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills , with the ability to interact professionally with
drivers, customers, management, union representatives, and the general public .
Human resources and training experience
.
Ability to work
extended hours, including weekends .
Consistent
attendance and punctuality .
Essential Job Functions
Full use of
hearing, speech, and vision
to perform duties effectively.
Manual dexterity to handle paperwork and perform clerical tasks.
Ability to
stoop, crouch, squat, kneel, and bend
for vehicle inspections.
Standing for extended periods
during training and inspections.
Exposure to
varied environmental conditions , including wet, cold, or hot weather.
Ability to
write clear and coherent reports .
