Position Purpose: Food and food service delivery drivers play a vital role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure that our customers' products arrive on time and in perfect condition while serving as the face of our company and building lasting relationships with our customers. Primary Responsibilities: Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally, ensuring accurate and timely responses to inquiries. Function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to maximize service to the company. Conduct all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of the tractor/truck and trailer, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Report all safety issues and required repairs promptly. Adhere to all DOT regulations and company driving guidelines. Immediately report any safety hazards and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Perform item counts, check customer invoices, and ensure accuracy in loaded products. Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly associated with freight. Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed. Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined delivery schedule. Unload products, transporting items into designated storage areas for customers. Perform damage control checks, scan items, and report discrepancies to a supervisor as necessary. Verify delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures. Collect payments (cash or checks) when required and secure trailer doors after loading returns. Ensure all equipment, including tractor and trailer, is properly secured. Unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork during check-in. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tractor, loading dock area, and trailers as required. At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: 6+ months of commercial driving experience High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent Valid CDL A Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable) Must be 21 years of age Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check Pass road test Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure a new DOT Health Card Able to lift and utilize equipment to move/stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights throughout the shift; products range from 10-35 pounds and up to approximately 60-90 pounds, depending on location.
