Opportunities for career growth while supporting America's essential food distribution system A safe and inclusive work environment that values recognition, rewards, and respect Position Purpose: As a food and service delivery driver, you play a vital role in the food supply chain, ensuring timely and safe delivery of products while being the friendly face of our company. Your interactions contribute to building lasting relationships with our valued customers. The Driver will operate a tractor trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight delivery routes, responsibly delivering food and food-related products to customers while adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Primary Responsibilities: Engage professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, providing accurate and timely information. Collaborate effectively with team members within the department and organization, performing any assigned duties to serve the company’s goals. Conduct mandatory safety checks (e.g., pre/post trip inspections) on tractor/truck and trailer, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Report any safety concerns or required repairs immediately. Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations and company safe driving policies. Inspect and verify load security and distribution of freight, ensuring all delivery items are accounted for. Complete all necessary documentation accurately and legibly for freight handling. Drive to deliver customer orders according to a pre-established delivery route. Unload goods and ensure their timely placement in designated storage areas within customer facilities. Verify deliveries with customers, ensuring proper signatures are obtained. Manage customer returns and secure trailer doors after loading. Maintain strict security for tractor, trailer, and freight at all times. Process damaged goods and customer returns, completing associated paperwork as required. Keep accurate logs of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT requirements. Perform general housekeeping duties for the vehicle and loading areas as needed. Secure all equipment at the end of the shift and ensure all paperwork is completed. Perform additional related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of 12 months commercial driving experience required. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Current and valid CDL A. Must meet all State licensing and certification requirements. Minimum age of 21 years. Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years. Pass post-offer drug screening and criminal background check. Able to pass a road test. Possess a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure one. Must be capable of handling product cases and freight weighing between 10-90 pounds, utilizing appropriate equipment as needed.
