Software Engineer

Job Overview:

MIKEL is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of critical software solutions for Navy operations. The ideal candidate will work on cutting-edge technologies and be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying software that meets the Navy's mission requirements. This position provides the opportunity to work with military personnel and other engineers to support Navy systems and ensure the security, efficiency, and functionality of software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications that support Navy systems and operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and Navy personnel, to gather requirements and ensure software solutions meet operational needs. Write efficient, maintainable, and high-quality code following best practices and Navy security protocols. Perform software testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues in both development and production environments. Continuously improve software applications through iterative development, enhancements, and system updates. Ensure software solutions are compliant with Navy regulations, security standards, and industry best practices. Document software designs, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity. Support integration and deployment of software into Navy systems, platforms, and technologies. Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training for software users, including Navy personnel. Participate in code reviews, software design reviews, and continuous learning to stay current with the latest development trends and technologies. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred) Proven experience as a Software Engineer, ideally with experience in military, defense, or government contracting environments. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar languages. Experience with software development tools and frameworks, including version control systems (e.g., Git), IDEs, and debugging tools. Strong understanding of software design principles, algorithms, and data structures. Familiarity with Navy operations, defense software systems, or military standards is a plus. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts clearly. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically. Security clearance may be required or preferred. Preferred Qualifications:
