Job Description
Library Science Faculty will:
- Teach two or more MLS courses per semester within their subject area, pending enrollment and program need.
- Assist in developing and refining a graduate curriculum that meets American Library Association (ALA) standards.
- Work closely with MLS adjuncts, graduate assistants, and other staff.
- Assist the director with the ALA accreditation process.
- Embed assessment functions in courses and gather artifacts for annual MU assessment reporting and ALA accreditation.
- Collaborate with teams overseeing student advising, internships, and placements.
- Assist with marketing and recruitment efforts.
- Participate in faculty governance, university service, and scholarly activities as per the University Library Faculty Handbook.
- Perform traditional library duties as needed based on expertise.
This is a 12-month, non-tenured appointment in the West Virginia University System, renewed annually through peer review. The position involves active participation in university service and may include traditional library duties.

- Organize information, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate strong information literacy and technology skills.
- Participate in campus and university committees and activities.
