The company is building a creative engine for digital expression where “anyone can create anything” and “everything works with everything.” Their proprietary avatar framework leverages machine learning, 3D graphics, and real-time systems to enable endless customization, interaction, and social gaming experiences. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager, Machine Learning to lead a talented team of ML engineers focused on enabling expressive and performant AI avatars. In this role, you’ll manage end-to-end model development, from research to production, and contribute to a tech stack that blends generative AI, graphics, and interactive systems. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone excited to shape the ML roadmap behind one of the most creative platforms in the metaverse. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years of experience in machine learning or related fields 2+ years of leadership or engineering management experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field Deep understanding of bringing ML technologies into production environments Proficient in designing and optimizing ML models for 3D graphics, mesh deformation, textures, and rendering pipelines Strong knowledge of generative AI models (e.g., Diffusion, VAEs, GANs, NeRF) Familiarity with LLM and NLP model evolution and application Experience with real-time rendering engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal) Strong skills in C++ or CUDA for accelerating ML-based rendering workflows What You Will Be Doing Desired Skills & Experience Experience working with OpenUSD, Houdini, and shader development Prior experience in avatar systems, creative tooling, or social gaming platforms Deep understanding of AI content generation pipelines and interoperability Background in organizations building expressive UGC ecosystems or game development platforms Exposure to large-scale ML infrastructure and optimization for interactive experiences Tech Breakdown 50% ML infrastructure and model deployment 30% Team leadership and project planning 20% Cross-functional collaboration with graphics, product, and design Daily Responsibilities Oversee the development and deployment of ML models powering AI avatars Manage a high-performing team of engineers and support their career growth Collaborate with technical and creative teams to define system-level goals and integration pipelines Foster innovation through a culture of iteration, experimentation, and technical excellence Balance hands-on technical guidance with managerial responsibilities The Offer Competitive salary and generous equity package Full-time, long-term opportunity to shape an industry-defining product Benefits Include: Comprehensive health insurance, dental, and vision coverage Equity Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis, now and in the future.
