Our mission is to raise the standard of healthcare through precision medicine based on host genetics. SCOPE Leads laboratory team and is responsible for laboratory operations. Ensures all laboratory and technical policies, processes, and procedures, as well as quality programs meet the highest organizational standards. Ensures that laboratory and quality programs are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., FDA, CLIA, AABB, ISO). Responsibilities Management, leadership, and oversight for all operational, technical, and scientific needs in the lab. Critical oversight and support for laboratory staff to ensure all are properly contributing as well as following all policies and procedures. Schedules staff in accordance with service typing needs. Ensures laboratory is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies and practices. SME for internal and external lab reviews and audits. Performs routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. Processing human blood, cell, and DNA samples for extraction and sequencing. DNA extraction and isolation. Education / Experience Degree in a relevant biological science. 2 years of supervisory experience. Technical Skills Prior laboratory supervisory experience. Pipetting DNA Extraction DNA Amplification Library Preparation Experience operating thermal cyclers and interpreting their settings. NGS DNA Typing using Illumina MiSeq. Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel. Management Skills Leadership skills and ability to train fellow laboratory associates. Interpersonal / collaboration skills and experience. Verbal and written communication skills. Other Skills Excellent time management, multitasking. Organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
