Role Overview
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of 10 senior engineers, with plans to scale to multiple teams over the next year. In this high-impact role, you'll collaborate closely with the CTO, CPO, Infrastructure Architect, and other executive stakeholders, shaping both the strategic and technical roadmap. You'll also drive transformation initiatives, leveraging advanced cloud architectures, infrastructure automation, and microservices-based designs to meet the needs of our large-scale, high-availability platform.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of engineers, fostering both individual and team growth. Scale your team to meet the expanding project needs as Tram Case grows.
Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align team efforts with organizational objectives, focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
Make critical architectural and design decisions for a high-availability, scalable platform capable of handling large-scale data and processing demands.
Partner with the CTO, CPO, and Infrastructure Architect to drive cohesive, mission-aligned strategies that prioritize user needs.
Oversee the end-to-end technical execution of projects, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
Actively mentor team members, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
Technical Proficiency
Must have experience with several of the following:
Programming Languages: Python, Go, Node.js, or Java
Cloud Platforms: Proficiency in AWS, GCP, or Azure
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi
CI/CD: ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar
Containerization and Orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker
Data and Storage Technologies: Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other RDBMS; familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis) is a plus
Microservices and APIs: Strong understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs
Security and Compliance: Experience with secure coding practices, compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR), and identity/access management solutions
Qualifications
810 years in software engineering, with at least 35 years in engineering management. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams on complex, large-scale projects.
Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance technical priorities with product goals and business objectives.
Track record of delivering scalable and resilient solutions, with deep knowledge of cloud-native and distributed systems.
Proven experience in working closely with executive leaders, product teams, and engineering leadership, aligning technical initiatives with business strategies.
