This role is on-site in Austin, TX, and will assist with hardware deployment activities. It is slated as a short-term contract with the possibility of extension.
We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructure, including Dell Data Center switches, and ensuring seamless integration with other systems.
Must have experience with the following:
Cisco Meraki switches
Palo Alto firewalls
Vast knowledge in networking and firewall protection
Key Responsibilities
Configure and manage Dell Data Center switches with Layer 2 uplinks in Full switch and SmartFabric Services modes
Install and configure system software on Dell Data Center switches
Understand and apply concepts and features of Dell EMC PowerSwitch, including SmartFabric OS10
Explain Layer 2 constructs and protocols, including LAG, VLT, Spanning Tree, and recognize Layer 3 constructs and protocols, including OSPF, BGP, IPv6, VRRP, and ACL
Troubleshoot Dell Data Center switches using the CLI and ONIE
Manage and configure Dell Data Center switches, including management interface configuration, switch access, and license management
Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot OS10 on Dell Data Center switches
Configure and manage virtual LANs (VLANs), spanning tree protocols (STP), link aggregation groups (LAG/LACP), and discovery protocols (LLDP)
Implement and manage SmartFabric Services (SFS) and basic routing
Apply quality of service (QoS) and layer 3 multicast
Stay up-to-date with the latest networking documentation, procedures, and tools, including deployment guides, interoperability guides, configuration guides, best practices guides, and architecture overviews
Must-Haves:
Strong knowledge of Dell Data Center switches, including configuration, management, and troubleshooting
Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols, including LAG, VLT, Spanning Tree, OSPF, BGP, IPv6, VRRP, and ACL
Familiarity with SmartFabric OS10 and its CLI
Experience with ONIE and its operations
Strong understanding of Linux commands and their functions
Ability to download, boot, install, and update ONIE
Knowledge of Dell EMC PowerSwitch concepts and features
Experience with management interface configuration, switch access, and license management
Strong troubleshooting skills using the CLI
Ability to apply quality of service (QoS) and layer 3 multicast
Strong understanding of virtual LANs (VLANs), spanning tree protocols (STP), link aggregation groups (LAG/LACP), and discovery protocols (LLDP)
Experience with SmartFabric Services (SFS) and basic routing
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and guidelines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
