Job Summary:
The Assistant Web Producer is an entry level position that supports the production, deployment, and management of front-end web functionality across our retail and enterprise web platforms, under the guidance of senior team members to assist in creating and maintaining web pages, managing site content, and supporting marketing and merchandising initiatives. This position reports to the Manager, Web Experience and requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and effective web operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
DAY TO DAY TACTICAL:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of web environments that meet the needs of cross-channel customers, ensuring alignment with the overall site strategy.
- Support the creation, editing, and management of web assets, working closely with senior producers to ensure content aligns with branding and site objectives.
- Help coordinate the scheduling and timing of content and promotions on the website to optimize user engagement.
- Participate in testing and quality assurance processes for new web features, assisting in the identification and resolution of errors before implementation.
- Maintain a basic understanding of system capabilities and assist in implementing new functionalities under the direction of senior team members.
- Monitor website performance metrics and assist in the preparation of reports that provide insights into site performance and user behavior.
- Provide on-call support outside regular business hours for routine fixes and system deployments, under the guidance of senior producers.
- Uphold Navy Exchange website standards and ensure consistent application across all web assets with supervision.
- Serve as a resource for basic operational duties within the Web Production team, seeking guidance as needed from senior producers.
User Experience:
- Assist in the production of interactive web content that contributes to a consistent cross-channel customer experience.
- Support the implementation of customer experience strategies, using data collected from tools such as Google Analytics under the supervision of senior team members.
- Help customize web content to deliver a personalized user experience, based on timing, customer segments, and past behavior, with direction from senior producers.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with web merchandising, digital marketing, and design teams to assist in the construction and optimization of web pages.
- Collaborate with technical, creative, and integrated marketing teams, providing support as needed to achieve shared goals.
- Partner with IT teams to provide feedback on design/architecture of new web systems, relaying information from senior producers.
- Engage with cross-departmental teams, including merchandising, IT, marketing, customer service, and design, to assist in the improvement of site assets and functionality.
- Participate in team training and development opportunities to grow skills and contribute to the success of the Web Production team.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requires a minimum five years as indicated below in any combination:
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Three years of general experience, which was gained in administrative, merchandising, technical, or other responsible work, enabling the applicant to gain knowledge of web production and practices, skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships, and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
OR
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
One year of education above the high school level may be substituted for nine months of experience, up to a maximum of a four- year Bachelor's degree for three years of general experience.
AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years of progressive experience that provided a background in website production and practices, content management, and metrics analysis; knowledge and understanding of information architecture and web usability; collaboration with various functional teams; or similar work that demonstrated knowledge and ability within the web production operational area.
Base experience must include high proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Microsoft Office; Knowledge of website design/layout best practices and industry standards (including 508 compliance, mobile usability, and user experience); and demonstrated experience with e-commerce platforms and systems. Knowledge of Oracle Products (ATG Web Commerce) preferred.
