PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT (PCA) PRN
Position Summary: Provide basic patient care to promote the comfort, cleanliness & safety of all patients including neonate thru geriatric. Duties typically assigned by Registered Nurse (RN). Essential Functions (Duties, Tasks & Responsibilities): 1. Obtain vital signs & accurately document. 2. Record Intake & Output & document meal intake. 3. Perform general hygiene care as needed which may include bathing, changing linens, oral hygiene & dressing patients. 4. Make rounds on assigned patients at least every 2 hours & as needed. 5. Provide safe environment for patient & follow guidelines for Fall Risk patients. 6. Reposition patients every 2 hours or as assigned by the RN or as patient care requires. 7. Promptly answer call lights. 8. Other tasks as assigned by the RN Additional Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities & Expectations: Comply with all hospital policies & procedures (P&P) as applicable for position including employee handbook, department & administrative P&P, goals & objectives for self, department & performance improvement, safety, compliance program, accreditation & survey standards, HIPAA & confidentiality & infection control. Provide exceptional customer service to all external (patients, families, etc.) & internal (co-workers, other departments, physicians, etc.) customers. Participate in staff meetings & serve on hospital committees/teams as appropriate. Perform work in effective, organized, accountable & competent manner. Be respectful, courteous & caring in all interactions with others and display a positive attitude. Demonstrate initiative & ownership in performance of duties & be self-starter. Pass competency & proficiency testing as required by department or hospital. Adapt to changing work assignments & comfortable serving diverse community. Keep knowledge & skills current via education activities, in-services & other training & keep certification(s) current, if any. Promote nursing & hospital services in service delivery area. Function well under stressful conditions involving patients, family, physicians, other departments & entities, workload, etc. Report or update nurses or manager on patient care issues or problems to correct or monitor. Maintain home &/or message telephone & "fill-in" for other staff as required. Perform related duties including assignment to other units/offices as required. Shift:

CNA certification required.
