IT Support Analyst

SUMMARY

This role is responsible for providing hands-on technical support to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of campus technology systems and services. The IT Support Analyst needs to have a solid background in IT support, strong troubleshooting abilities, and excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

A. Device and System Management Maintain, repair, and upgrade computer systems, laptops, printers, and related peripherals. Handle Wi-Fi connectivity issues and troubleshoot campus camera systems. Manage requests and deployment of new laptops for incoming staff and faculty. Configure and set up laptops for new staff and faculty, including onboarding support. Oversee daily library printing operations (10:30 AM - 12:30 PM), including troubleshooting printers, replacing toner, and ordering supplies. Import Moodle shells for the Veterinary Department at the start of each block. Oversee laptop carts, ensuring devices are organized, fully charged, and ready for use (with assistance from DFI for distribution). B. Student Onboarding and Training

Set up Moodle passwords for all incoming students. Provide Moodle troubleshooting support, including password resets. Develop training resources for students during Orientation Day, covering: Moodle navigation and usage. Campus Portal setup. Email configuration. Microsoft Office tools and best practices. C. Helpdesk Support

Respond to technical support requests from staff, faculty, and students promptly and professionally. Troubleshoot laptop, desktop, and software issues. Provide training and guidance on technology usage, security, and best practices. Document recurring issues and propose long-term solutions. Manage and Promote the use of ticketing system D. Software Support

Support educational and administrative applications (e.g., Office 365, Moodle, student information systems). Ensure software tools remain up-to-date and fully functional. JOB SPECIFICATIONS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position operates in a professional office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment, including but not limited to computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The employee must be able to:

Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods Frequently use hands and fingers to operate office equipment Occasionally reach, bend, or lift to move items such as but not limited to files, office supplies, or equipment. Maintain visual acuity to read and prepare documents Reasonable accommodation requests will be considered per ADA guidelines.

TRAVEL

This position may require travel to between the Cleveland and Fairlawn campus locations, or off-site work-related locations or campus events.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, hourly position, 40 hours per week. The standard work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION and PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Bachelor's preferred) or equivalent experience. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). (preferred) 2+ years of IT support, helpdesk, or technical troubleshooting experience. Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Office 365 administration. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including Wi-Fi troubleshooting. Previous experience in an educational or academic IT support environment. (preferred) Knowledge of learning management systems (e.g., Moodle). Familiarity with printer management, including maintenance and supply ordering. (preferred) Experience with camera systems and basic IT infrastructure. (preferred) Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide professional support to users.

May receive collaborative direction from campus management to support institutional goals.
