Description
Supports the day-to-day employee and labor relations function, including assistance in complex employee issues and investigations, administration of labor agreements, policies and procedures for discipline, conflict resolution, and grievances. Collecting and organizing employee records in database. Reports to the Employee and Labor Relations Manager. Partners with the HR Business Partners on employee matters (performance management and investigations) by conducting interviews, gathering facts and collecting information to achieve a thorough investigation. Assist with development and delivery of appropriate feedback or remedial action. Proposes initiatives that foster cooperative employee/labor relations. Ensures compliance with negotiated contracts and employment related federal and state employment rules and regulations. Assists with union meetings and requests for information. Creatively suggest solutions for employee and labor relations issues. Along with the Human Resources team, ensures Joint Commission and California Department of Public Health survey readiness regarding human resources accountabilities.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Relations, HR or equivalent experience Preferred Education:
Minimum Experience:
2 or more years performing employee relations work in a predominately non-exempt workforce or a combination thereof of interviewing and investigations experience. Knowledge of basic employment laws and standards Preferred Experience:
3 or more years experience as stated above with emphasis in labor relations, collective bargaining, dispute resolution, and compliance in a healthcare environment. Knowledge of Joint Commission Principles, Title 22 and California employment laws Required Certification:
