Pharmacy Technician 2 - Nights, 7 Days On 7 Days Off
Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner. Demonstrates the ability to competently work in different general and specialized areas of pharmacy practice. Responsibilities include: Demonstrating the ability to competently work in general and specialized areas of pharmacy practice. Participating in the training of new employees. Filling and delivering medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner. Following policies and procedures consistently. Ensuring adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care. Triaging and escalating any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed. Using appropriate systems for processing of patient information. Ensuring quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements. Operating pharmacy equipment appropriately. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Position Compensation Range: $20.68 - $32.05 Hourly Minimum Requirements: Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience: 6 months minimum relevant experience required License/Certification: Commonwealth of Virginia Pharmacy Technician Registration required. CPhT credential through National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required. For team members hired prior to February 1, 2020, certification as CPhT through NHA or PTCB is required by January 31, 2022. Physical Demands: Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.
