Informatics Software Engineer

As an Informatics Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Abbott's diagnostic informatics solutions. Analyze customer needs and translate them into functional software designs and deliverables. Develop high-performance, secure, and scalable applications using modern software engineering practices. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve and evolve informatics applications. Ensure all work complies with Abbott's Informatics Quality System and relevant regulatory standards. Plan, execute, and track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables. Support post-launch activities for on-market products. Participate in Scrum-based development teams and contribute to agile ceremonies. Communicate effectively with project managers, product owners, and R&D leadership regarding scope, risks, and budgets. Occasional travel may be required based on project needs. Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 13 years of progressive experience in software development, ideally within startups or mid-to-large corporations. Proficiency in Embarcadero Delphi and SQL (Oracle preferred). Strong foundation in object-oriented programming (OOP) and modern design patterns. Experience with unit, integration, and functional testing, Git, and agile development methodologies. Bonus skills include: Python development RESTful API design Cloud technologies (AWS preferred) Containerized applications Unix/Linux environments Mobile application development Distributed systems and security software Prior experience in healthcare or life sciences software development is a strong plus.
