Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Assistant Product Manager to conduct research and prepare activities regarding new personal lines insurance programs and coordinate their introduction with other departments. Specific duties include: assist requests from regulators for additional data (5%); generate standard or custom reports summarizing financial data for review by executives, managers, and other stakeholders (5%); maintain or update premium change tools and databases (10%); analyze competitors' activities and provide insights to executives or managers (10%); provide requirements to IT for system changes (10%); analyze and synthesize current business intelligence or customer feedback data to support recommendations for action (10%); coordinate project schedules and meetings with IT, Actuarial and Product Development teams (20%); and analyze internal loss ratio data and make recommendation on rate and underwriting actions to ensure the company hits financial goals (30%). Position requires travel within the U.S. 2-3 times a year. Option to work remotely with required travel to local offices as needed, if within 50 miles of remote worksite. Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Management, or a closely related field of study, plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Personal Lines Product Specialist, Senior Product Analyst, or similar position coordinating all phases of new product introduction and product maintenance. Must have: 7 years of experience working with SAS; 5 years of experience performing loss ratio analysis; 3 years of experience working with Snowflake; 2 years of experience working with Python and Python Github. Specific experience must also include each of the following: completing premium survey for both personal auto and personal home products; working with IT requirement including ability to upload and download rate tables from IT systems; conducting competitive analysis from competitors' filings; working with annual revenue planning process including developing and documenting assumptions for new business count, policy-in-force, retention and conversion ratio; building relationships across all department such as actuarial, distribution, countrywide product, etc.; and working with both exclusive agency channel and independent agency channel distributions.
