will offer a range of essential healthcare services including an Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging Services, 38 Medical/Surgical beds, 12 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds and 4 Operating Rooms. Overview The Medical Technologist Supervisor (MT) works under the direction of the Lab Director in the area of responsibility and/or the Medical Director of the Laboratory. Coordinates and monitors performance of Staff to assure quality and productivity in all facets of a safe laboratory working environment. Performs technical procedures in such areas as Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Point of Care Testing, Urinalysis and Microbiology according to established Protocols and standard operating procedures. The Supervisor is required to follow all quality control and quality assurance guidelines established in the department to include accurate performance, review and documentation. Perform routine maintenance of departmental equipment and procedures to include inventory control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. The position participates in all aspects of Proficiency testing and in maintaining a constant state of readiness in the department to meet all Standards for accreditation from College of American Pathologist (CAP), DNV, State, OSHA, CLIA, etc. The Supervisor assists in the training of new and existing personnel as well as students. The Supervisor performs the responsibilities of the Laboratory Administrative Director in their absence. May perform specimen collection, specimen processing and phlebotomy as applicable.

What you will do

Coordinates and monitors staff performance to assure quality and productivity in all facets of a safe laboratory working environment. Assists in the performance of technical procedures in the areas of Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Point of Care Testing, Urinalysis and Microbiology. Demonstrate reliability and flexibility in meeting the needs of the customer, RHS and Department. Demonstrates a sense of urgency to Facilitate positive customer service throughout the department/facility. Maintains a safe environment by complying with RHS policies/procedures/regulatory requirements that support the National Patient Safety Goals and Quality Initiatives. Recognizes and reports variances and provides resolutions. Uses appropriate protective equipment, body mechanics and follows safety guidelines and procedures; identifies and acts to resolve variances or suspected non-compliance to management. Responsible for ensuring department is maintaining accreditation from College of American Pathologist (CAP), DNV and other accrediting agency standards (as required) within the department. Duties include but are not limited to validation testing, performance of proficiency samples, preventative maintenance, QC documentation, temperature checks , method comparisons, etc. Recognizes, responds and communicates collaboratively with physician regarding variances in laboratory operations and patient data. Demonstrates the ability to build collaborative professional relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Understands technology systems necessary for efficient department operations and ensures equipment, instrumentation and technology are maintained and functional. Complies with laboratory QA/QI program. Ensures testing is completed accurately to ensure quality patient care to include preanalytic, analytic and post-analytic phases. Education

Bachelors Degree, Medical Lab Technology/Clinical Lab Science or Related (Required) Experience

5-6 years Clinical Lab experience (Required) 2 years Previous supervisory experience (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications

Medical Technologist (MT) - The ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist Upon Hire(Required) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) Upon Hire(Required)
