YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION
The Director of Education provides visionary leadership and strategic direction for educational programming, curriculum development, instructional quality, and student success for the ROCK Community Center for Youth and Children and all K-12 education initiatives. This position ensures that all educational initiatives align with industry best practices, accreditation standards, and organizational goals. The ideal candidate is an excellent leader, communicator and effective connector internally and externally. The Director of Education oversees staff development, budget planning, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of innovative educational strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership & Program Development:
Provide effective leadership to staff and volunteers Develop and execute a comprehensive education strategy to ensure high-quality learning experiences. Oversee curriculum design, instructional methodologies, and program evaluation for continuous improvement. Align educational programs with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and emerging best practices. Faculty & Staff Development:
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate staff to ensure instructional excellence. Provide professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning among educators. Student Success & Learning Outcomes:
Implement assessment strategies to measure student achievement and program effectiveness. Develop support systems to enhance student retention, engagement, and academic performance. Address diverse learning needs and implement inclusive teaching strategies. Compliance & Accreditation:
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local education regulations and accreditation standards. Lead accreditation processes and maintain compliance with required educational policies and procedures. Monitor and analyze trends in education regulations and implement necessary policy adjustments. Financial & Operational Management:
Develop and manage budgets for educational programs, ensuring efficient resource allocation. Identify and secure funding sources, including grants and partnerships, to support educational initiatives. Oversee administrative processes related to academic programming, scheduling, and student services. Community & Industry Engagement:
Establish partnerships with local schools, higher education institutions, businesses, and community organizations. Represent the organization at educational conferences, forums, and community events. Foster relationships with stakeholders to enhance educational opportunities and workforce readiness programs. Technology & Innovation in Education:
Integrate cutting-edge technology into curriculum and instruction to enhance learning experiences. Oversee the implementation of digital learning platforms and educational tools. Stay informed about trends in education technology and adapt strategies accordingly. Additional Responsibilities:
Stay abreast of educational research, trends, and best practices. Develop and implement scholarship and student support initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

:
Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum Development, or a related field (Doctorate preferred). Minimum of seven years of experience as a senior leader in education administration, instructional leadership, or curriculum development. Demonstrated problem solver and critical thinker in educational environments Strong leadership and strategic planning skills with a track record of program development and improvement. Knowledge of accreditation standards, compliance requirements, and best practices in education. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Experience with budget management and grant writing preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Office and classroom settings with moderate noise levels. Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events and professional development. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Teaching or Administrative Certification preferred. Compliance with state and federal education regulations.
