We're committed to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone's empowered to be their best.The CNC Operator is responsible for operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) and tape machine tools, along with related auxiliary equipment, to perform a range of precision machining operations. This includes the use of CNC vertical turning and horizontal milling machines, as well as standard measuring and layout tools such as micrometers, indicators, gauges, verniers, scales, and calculators. The role requires the ability to interpret technical documents, perform machine setups, and ensure high-quality part production through accurate measurement and attention to detail.Key Responsibilities:Operate CNC machines to perform a variety of machining tasksStand, lift, bend, push, and pull throughout the shiftWork from blueprints, program instructions, charts, tables, specifications, and verbal/written directionsInterpret blueprints and technical documentationInput data or perform calculations necessary for CNC programmingPerform basic setups and alignments using fixtures, jigs, vises, clamps, and similar toolsLay out work in proper operational sequenceExecute operations such as drilling, reaming, turning, boring, recessing, grooving, milling, keyway cutting, and slotting to tight tolerancesPerform measurements and machining calculationsInspect parts for accuracy, including diameters, runout, squareness, and anglesReplace dull tools and adjust setups as needed to maintain product qualityVisually inspect own work for quality and complianceReview job and order specifications to ensure proper executionMaintain a clean and safe work environment at all timesKeep a clean and organized work areaUnderstand and follow written and verbal instructionsIdentify and report faulty equipment, defective materials, and abnormal operating conditionsUse independent judgment for planning, setup, inspection, and quality controlPerform other related duties as assignedRequirements:High school diploma, GED, or equivalent1-2 years of trade school or vocational training in CNC machining preferredAbility to read, write, and speak English fluentlyProficient in reading blueprints and using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicatorsStrong mathematical skills relevant to machining tasksAbility to accurately inspect work and ensure qualityPrior experience operating various machining equipment preferredSuccessful completion of required skills testing is necessary for job placementPhysical and Environmental Requirements:Standard 8-hour workdayExposure to coolant, oil, dirt, sand; warm in summer, cool in winterEye and foot protection required at all timesStanding, walking, and bending required throughout the shiftLifting up to 50 poundsPushing and pulling with estimated force of 30-70 poundsFollowing receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processes as permitted or required by applicable law.We are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
