If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.Vast is looking for an Orbital Tube Welder, reporting to the Senior Manager of Advance Manufacturing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach locationResponsibilities: Create and follow procedures to setup and operate the orbital welding systemWork from blueprints and approved drawingsWork alongside engineering to provide insight to process improvements Cut and prepare tubing and fittings used in the welding operationPerform setup and maintenance of the welding systemAssist in training other teammates in orbital tube weldingWork with final integration teams to weld on vehicle assemblyAssemble and calibrate liquid controllers and systems as requiredInspect all completed assemblies using borescope and other inspection toolsMaintain an adequate supply of spare parts for the welding systemMaintain a clean work area, practicing "clean as you go" and general housekeeping standards Assist in facility needsMinimum Qualifications:1+ year of welding, machining or manufacturing experience OR certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, welding, and/or electronicsAbility to operate forklift to assist in facility daily operationsPreferred Skills & Experience:Certification from a formal orbital weld training program3+ years of orbital welding experienceClean room experience Airframe and powerplant (A&P) licenseTIG welding and clean room experienceExperience working in an aerospace manufacturing environmentStrong forklift experienceAdditional Requirements:Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassistedAble to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minAble to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spacesAble to work in small teams to ensure production needs are consistently metPay Range: Orbital Tube Welder I: $24.00 - $29.00Orbital Tube Welder II: $27.00 - $34.00Orbital Tube Welder III: $31.00 - $38.00Salary Range: California$24-$38 USDCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITSBase salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
