American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring prior travel assignment and advanced cardiac care skills.Job Details•Position is in the ICU, specifically the 2NW Advanced Care (ACU/CCU) unit,•Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, post-cath care, some surgical cases, and other complex medical conditions,•ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 2:1, occasionally 1:1 based on acuity,•Common treatments include drips such as diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin, and blood product administration,•Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am and required rotation for every other weekend and holiday,•Use of Epic EMR is required and experience is highly preferred,•Travelers will be first to float and may float to Telemetry, Med-Surg, or Neurology-Medical units,Job Requirements•Active RN license required; compact state license accepted,•Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,•Minimum two years of ICU experience required,•Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment,•Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, monitoring femoral arterial sheaths, and care for advanced cardiac and surgical patients required,•Impella and/or IABP experience strongly preferred,•Experience with Art lines is preferred,•Ability to interpret and chart telemetry strips required,Additional Information•RNs are responsible for reviewing and charting telemetry strips and managing advanced cardiac drips,•Unit support includes CNAs, respiratory therapists, 24/7 hospitalist presence, phlebotomy, and IV/VAT team,•Charge nurse supports the ICU with no direct patient assignment and responds to codes and rapid response team calls,•General hospital and unit orientation provided, including two shifts on the unit,•Scrubs of any professional color may be worn,•Up to 7 days of time off can be approved per contract,•First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
