CNC Setup Machinist Location: Wallingford, CT Schedule: Onsite | Monday-Friday | 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM Pay Rate: $25-$30/hour Position Summary: A CNC Setup Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision parts. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform first-piece and in-process inspections, and troubleshoot production issues to support continuous improvement. The machinist also assists with root cause analysis, maintains tooling and equipment, and may mentor machine operators. Adherence to safety protocols and workplace policies is essential, along with accurate daily documentation. Additional duties may be assigned to support production goals. Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate CNC machines, including both lathes and mills Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Perform first-piece and in-process inspections Identify production issues and support root cause analysis and improvement initiatives Train and support machine operators as needed Maintain tooling and equipment to ensure peak performance Complete all required daily documentation accurately Follow all safety procedures and workplace policies Perform other related duties as needed to support production Skills and Abilities: Strong blueprint reading skills, including GD&T knowledge Proficient with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Commitment to a safe and organized work environment Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required Experience: 2-5 years of CNC machine setup experience preferred Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
