Title: Health and Safety Specialist
nLocation: Charlotte, NC 28273
nHours: Mon - Fri / 7:00am-3:30pm
nPay Rate: $100,000
nnJob Summary:
nThe Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment. This role involves developing training programs, conducting safety audits, and collaborating with various departments to implement effective safety practices. The Safety Specialist will monitor work processes, conduct inspections, and coordinate safety training to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety.

Monitor work processes and procedures to identify unsafe practices or breaches of safety regulations.

Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure proper installation and operational functionality.

Facilitate the repair and replacement of unsafe or damaged equipment to maintain a safe working environment.

Develop, implement, and organize comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels.
n n - n
Oversee the creation and enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
n n - n
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
n n - n
Collaborate with the quality control department to assess whether finished products meet safety standards for customers.
n n - n
Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions.
n n - n
Facilitate safety meetings and workshops to raise awareness and engage staff in safety practices.
n n - n
Assist in the development or modification of safety equipment and measures to improve workplace safety.
n n - n
Oversee the placement of safety signage and hazard warnings throughout the facility.
n n - n
Conduct investigations into incidents or unsafe conditions on the worksite and recommend preventative measures.

Prepare and present regular reports on safety operations, incidents, and compliance to management.

Stay up to date with safety regulations and industry best practices by attending seminars and workshops.

Qualifications & Experience:
n- n
- n
Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or a related field .
n n - n
5-7 years of proven experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment .
n n - n
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), American Welding Society (AWS), and Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB), as well as industry best practices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to train and engage staff effectively.
n n - n
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement safety solutions.
n n - n
Analytical skills to conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and develop corrective actions.
n n - n
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and foster a culture of safety.
n n - n
Experience in investigating workplace incidents and contributing to the development of safety policies.
n n
