Job Title: Shipping / Receiving Material HandlerReports to: Shipping Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; HourlySchedule(s): Monday through Friday2nd Shift: 3pm-11pmJob Duties:•Receiving incoming products and materials.•Notification and/or delivery of incoming product to end user.•Storage of raw material and maintaining FIFO of inventory.•Regular daily maintenance checks of lift trucks and completing required documentation.•Ensuring material is properly tagged before moving to different locations.•Helping to maintain order of out bound shipments, staging and labeling.•General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas.•Requires hands on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other department and outside waste disposal vendor.•Receiving incoming products and materials•Requires completion of incoming inspection testing, confirmation of certificate of conformance and reconciliation of receiving / purchase documentation and proper identification tagging of incoming parts.•Notification and/or delivery of incoming product to end user.•Each receipt must have documentation (Packing Slip etc.) to support computer system entries.•Raw material and critical supply inventories.•Requires maintenance and cleaning of inventory area, inventory organization and racking, inventory cycle counting and reporting, monthly inventory accounting, and regular daily maintenance checks of lift trucks.•Actual Physical Counts of Raw Material and tag controls required•All out bound shipments, staging and labeling.•General housekeeping, maintenance and organization of the dock and inventory areas.•Requires hands on cleaning and maintenance along with organization and interpersonal skills to coordinate with other department and outside waste disposal vendor.•Documentation distribution.•Forklift license may be required•Stacking Dunnage•Using FIFO when staging materialExperience: •1-3 years shipping/receiving experience in a fast paced environment a plus.•1-2 years of previous material handler/fork truck experience preferred, but not required.•PLEX experience preferred, but not requiredPhysical Requirements:•Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items•Responding to public address system announcements•Walking and standing•Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds or moreEnvironmental Job Requirements•Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the shop, temporary cracks may appear in the floor, causing an uneven walking surface•The shop environment can be dusty and noisy•Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes•Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions, or liquids such as coolants and oils from the machinery•May have to handle parts with sharp edges•Passing forklifts emit gas fumes•Tools, supplies, and related materials may contain hazardous materials•May have to occasionally work outdoors where temperatures and climate can fluctuatePersonal Protection Equipment•The wearing of Safety Glasses when working on the shop floor.Management has the right to add or change these duties of the position at any time.Per Michigan Proposition 1, passed into law in 2019, we no longer drug test for THC.
